If You Loved Me

If you loved me-

The sun would rise many times per day
cause the sparkle you placed in me
would beam happiness back your way.

I’m sure there’d be a touch
only we could possibly know.
Each time we come near
winds of desire would blow.

If you loved me-

Would be no need for the stars up there
for the glitter coming from my glow
would leave sprinklings everywhere.

You need not be too concerned
both our hearts would be on the line
and as those years allow us to grow
comfort  will  arrive in due time.

If you loved me-

There’d be so many more things we could do
I’d try hard not to smother but encourage
and leave space so you might still be you.

No doubt, our love could not help but build
into such a loving empire filled to the top.
With intertwined souls facing the world as one
nothing could force our love to stop.

If…you loved me-

There’d be nothing else you’d need to do.
Allowing me to express my love
is all the proof I’d need from you.

If I loved you -

The moon would cast loving tendrils
illumination as bright as in my heart
and leave us both with breathlessness

I know, not quite as poetic as yours, but my own response.....

Hugs,
Chris

How much more do I
have to yet go through
untill you have all your proof?

Will I be allowed to survive
with any sense of self intact
or will I end up lost and alone
not able to take this kind of impact.
