We Danced Away The Night

We Danced Away The Night

I could tell from her eyes
that certain sort of trance
she begs ones attention
when she wants to dance

Even more so I could tell
she asked about slow tunes
and started reminising bout
old baritones and their croons

As soon as we hit the floor
head resting on my chest
hair radiating vanilla jasmine
essence of love from her breast

We more so rocked
or shuffled one might say
barely moved on the floor
danced, non-the-less today.

All the world faded
we held each other so tight
slipping deeper into yesterdays
as we danced away the night.
