The End Has Appeared

suppose I should face it
waiting is lonesome still
as I sit in quiet refrain
I feel a creeping chill.

expectations linger
so hate to let her go
turning loose is hard
when yet I love her so

no thrills in being left
along side the road
as excuses mount
another story told

I may as well admit
she's stepped on out ahead
loosed the touch of revelry
the love, all but dead

she must not have the nerve
to speak it loud and clear
so I'll have to end it. For us
the END has just appeared.
