Ode To Sarah's View

Outstanding view of one
of contemporary society's ills.
Seems more than just a high
surpasses most parent's wills.
Yet, as youngsters raised
with better thoughts in mind
reach for a substance of hell
addiction as bad as can find.
All of the tears and hurtful days
their buddy's suffered too
seemed to have the least
of a damn influence on you.
The waving hands and eyes
to grab your own attention
beyond me how one might buy
the hellish substance mentioned.

Waiting for the next consumer
like a walking corner store
I see them reach out and
smile knowing you came back for more.
Beats me, a jive and sullen force
why you have such a need or lack
which drives you so far to that end
to reach for hell known as crack.
And just as bad and oh so sad I see
the pains on your children's face
you birth an addict as if they had it.
So darn traumatic and an utter disgrace
you traders in hell's name and buyers too
cloaked in God's grace, hope He seen us
and you hang dangling like a "limp penis".
