Share Those Senses

My eyes comb the words
needing to straighten the curl
of the poignant flavors I see
hidden, begging to unfurl.

My senses are aware of much
each performs its job well.
Sadly many hide their senses
in hopes no one can tell.

I must wonder why many
in their attempt to slide thru
what is normally called life
shudder at  knowing you.

Perhaps all they need
is caring words to be said
or a gesture like a smile
but use to frowns instead.

Feelings are kept hid
heart wrapped in a box.
Seems they keep it guarded
hide the keys to its locks.

I'm no prestine angel
but do care that you miss
beautiful flavors of the soul
can be unlocked with a kiss.

Maybe your hiding ways
reflect actions not taken
which caused you to recoil
at thoughts of being shakened.

Use all those senses
can be heavenly thrills
the fodder for joy untold
added, making more frills.

Me? I'm all for chances
to let the soul beam out.
Sharing your world with others
might produce a happy shout.

Hmmm...sadly but excellently written for another friend...can see this a mile away.  Hope your friend listens....

Hugs,

you'd be surprised
what's behind the eyes
of sorrow's face
where one may need
your words of embrace.

thank you spence, for this loving piece ...
a simple word can reach the inner depths
of the soul ... you've done that for your
friend, my friend ...
