Learn To Read

Learn To Read

One of the fights I have stayed in
is to make sure our kids can read.
Tomorrow hinges on their backs;
the future is their's indeed.

If they can't assimilate the words
they see dance about their head
the essence will certainly be missed
and the meaning will always be dead.

There are just too many folks
who fail to prepare to move up.
They settle down at the bottom
like grinds in a coffee cup.

We need for them to take the lead
and step forward with their best
but if they fail to prepare themselves
they'll fall back with some of the rest.

On the issue of education
the message has got to be LOUD;
we need an educated future
to step out in front of the crowd.

But their failure is at the beginning
in cultivating the planted seed
by not understanding the seriousness
when they fail to learn to read.

This is true, so true...for all the children out there....and adults too.  Your voice is heard and acknowledged...

Hugs,
