River's Edge

Drove out 'fore daybreak
stood by the river's edge
watching the water flo
like it was heaven's ledge

I inhaled the history
as I am apt to do
swear an angel passed
looked just like you.

By then I had dumped
the debris my soul carried
after sunrise, I was filled
no longer need I tarry.

Drive home felt good
your smile lit the place
soft hum of the engine
put me in your grace.

When I reach that
quiet place as I do
its a known fact
can't help but think of you.

Spencer, you're poetry brings about such emotion from all who read it, how are we to respond to something that simply takes our breath away?
