What If

What if you had not been
my real fantasy come true.
There'd not be much of me
if there had not been you.

What if I hadn't recognized
your lovely face that day
and walked straight towards you
as our eyes met that way?

What if you had not returned
the love started in my fantasy.
There would not be the songs
sung with love by you and me.

When the whole world looks
at the stars or a sunset too
my eyes are fixed, staring
on the sunrise of you.

All of life's burdens are lighter
with you, here by my side.
Glad the angels heard your prayer
which filled my soul with pride.

Spencer, your love poetry is so beautiful. I could read it from sunrise to sunset. Thank you and continue writing:)

Ah but pride does such strange things, especially in us human beings, better still to look beyond the human frailness of a bond, and see instead the Christ within who's guiding us to seek Him first when era we thirst.

Dont' ask me what that means it just poured forth.

Ode to Spencer the Poet
The Poet stands unglued;
He sees a dismal sight;
It is as if her world
Had not collided with his own;
No collasal wreckage
bent on creating stars;
No new mountains
from volcanoes' spew
No wandering islands
From continnents' rift...
( he bited his lip;
the eyes narrow,
his hands go on his hip)..
