Your Presence Fondles Me

Your presence fondles me
touches my sensitive soul
reaches out and massages
like fingertips of gold

When you enter my sight
always a fluttering feel
the radiance you bring
peaceful and so still

Even when you are not
within my senses sight
thinking of you is warmth
chocolate on a cool night.

Your presence fondles me
caresses my every part
manipulates my senses
penetrates deep into my heart.

Think I'll Call Off Today

Think I'll call off today
lack of interest to address
any of the issues of now
I truly confess.

I'll slide back inside
my warm cocoon lair.
Skip this day's problems.
Poof! Off into the air.

Think I'll ignore today
tomorrow can come early
don't wish to be sour
nor brash and not surly.

If I can skip today
refuse to face reality
get a break from the horrors
the weight of mentality.

I know it will be there
when I open my cocoon
but a day of respite
cannot come too soon.

I'll just call off today
relax and be at ease
start tomorrow off
joyfully, if you please.

Barefoot In The Park

Feel like a magic man touching soul's hearts
stirring the pot of emotions at the start
and when all have been finally touched
lay down and take my rest, earned so much
at times feels like I wanna jump n shout
then just look at all and start to pout
but when my bare feet hit the floor
my soul awakens and I hit the door
to seek all who swims in the dark
take my stroll, barefoot, in the park.

Big Lie

What’s the real meaning

When life tells us a lie

And each time you reach

The ideal seems to die.

No matter the content

We all know it’s true

The real world is false

the lie stares back  to you.

I fight for all I am

And try to help the rest

But at times the goals fail

Even as I target the best.

But, no matter what

I see it thru my eyes

The whole story of this life…

so full of big white lies.

Drawn In Chalk

I am one who has been trying

like you said to pass on the truth

yet words seem to fall on deaf ears

I aint hip enough for our youth

day after day the echo of guns

sends out such a piercing sound

tomorrow another brother lost

no longer gonna be around

as I go visit mama and who else

can't miss it in the street or walk

"stunning", no matter how often I see

his life outlined... drawn in chalk.

Which Is Madness Anyway

But, did you not see

the shadow at your shoulder?

Have you no recall

of my promise to be there,

to assist you in times of trouble?

Has thou heart been so heavy

you lost a wing? Oh, to fly again

and breathe the scents of the heavens

whilst a whisper of the breeze

featherly, and caress they breast.

As the the blossoms of Spring

burst its' marvelous array

to soothe thy soul.

Like the forsythia, painting

its annual yellow cloud burst;

Speaking only a language of comfort.

Have thou wings forgotten

how to lift thee back into

the "canopy of the evening"?

O dear, I pray thou has not succumbed

to the travesty, in a world

seeming crazy by repetition

Which is madness anyway!

Appathy

I recognize not the face

Nor even know their name

I guarantee the outcome

Will surely be the same

They come one by one

To fetch a favor from you

Cause there is dire need

To get a dollar or two.

Yet each time I offer

To take them for some work

There comes many an excuse

and think me but a jerk.

Yet I keep trying to change

The wrong which I see

And try to make a difference

within  our community.

But each time that you

Succumb to the motley fool

And purchase what he’s selling

You break the golden rule.

What you seem to forget

Each time you buy his deal

Is that you may be his next victim

From whom he chose to steal.

If  you only think a bit

You could bring it to a halt

Cause every time he steals

You carry some of the fault

It makes me really sad

To see how weak we are

To allow this degradation

To continue on so far.

I have not need to recognize

The face nor even the name

If we do not change our  ways

The outcome remains the same.
